Some people also find dante doesn't work for them with apt (see
various emails in the bug archive).  Every now and then I sit down and
try and figure out what is going wrong and how to fix it.

Choice can be a good thing.  i.e. if tsocks works and dante-client
doesn't then a strace may reveal the differences and vice versa.
