I have a question:
Is there a latin1toUTF-8 function (in perl)?

(the background: we translate now the description to german and we
use latin1. The work is the translation and IMHO this is not a
 problem, that we start now.

With such a function, we can later transform the latin1 Descriptions
 to UTF-8 Descriptions...)

We have make the first german Packages files and I tested this files
with apt, apt-cache and dselect. This work. You can find the files on:
	http://auric.debian.org/~grisu/description_translation/
if you want to test this.

btw: can we put this files on the normal ftp-server in projects/...
     (and later in dists/)?
     Comments?

on the web-page is also a screenshot with a translated description in
dselect. I must make a newer, with more text...
