I think the general idea is to get Emacs out of standard, since a lot of people
don't want it, but still offer it as a straightforward option during the
installation process.  Currently, the choices for package selection at install
time are tasksel and dselect.  With the "straightforward" restriction I gave
above, tasksel is the only option.

Maybe this will change with debian-installer, or some future device.
