Security updates and testing (was: Re: Bug#89397: ...)

I guess you're referring to 'testing'.

I don't have control what goes into testing. We can just wait that 2.3.0-3
is finally migrated into testing, which could happen as soon as all
autobuilders have built the package (currently m68k is still missing). Since
2.3.0-4 is in Incoming and will be installed to unstable later today, it's
clear that it will take another few days until a fixed version may make it's
way into testing.

As it is, you have to be aware the 'testing' is the least 'secure' branch of
Debian:

Security updates to stable will be manually (and usually quite fast)
be installed by the security team, security updates to unstable will be
installed once every day.

But security updates to packages in testing are subject to the same
migration rules as any other package (cf.
http://ftp-master.debian.org/testing/).

Therefore, unstable is more 'secure' than testing in this respect.
