My employer InterNLnet BV was until recently a part of UUNET Netherlands and still makes use of the UUNET backbone. I notice that to reach www.nl.debian.org (hosted at Cistron) I'm routed over Frankfurt via Level3.

What are the options?

- Urge UUNET to adapt its peering policy: personally I doubt whether my ties with the UUNET organization would enable me to exert the necessary influence.

- Convince UUNET to transfer ftp.nl.debian.org: I don't know the exact historical background but I assume that there's a prestige factor involved here.

- Accept the situation as inherent to the power politics of internetland.

- Something else?
