i concur. i've had all sorts of problems with this earlier this week when trying to add comments to uids (deleted existing, created new ones and then had doubles of everything). found that i could revoke the signatures on the old uids but others had signed them so rather than cause confusion i revoked the whole key and started from scratch.

yup, sucks doesn't it?  its too bad there isn't a way to mark a single
uid as revoked or better `obsolete'.

agreed. most annoying. most annoying also that keys/uids/signatures/etc. linger forever. it would be good if regardless of expiry they were purged every 12 months or so (although i guess you want the revokes to hang around - there's probably all sorts of other issues with this i haven't thought of too)
