iptables 1.2-3: broken???

Hi guys,
	from this morning (after the last update) i get this error message:

fabi:# iptables -L
iptables v1.2: can't initialize iptables table `filter': Module is wrong
version
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

tested on kernel-2.4.0 2.4.1-pre1 and pre2

On all the systems i've compiled them directly in the kernel. I didn't
tried as modules.

Any clues??
