Well, speaking of the Kernel Cousin summaries: we're in need of more
contributors!

If you have a 1/2 hour every week or two to summarize a thread, go on over
and have a look at http://kt.linuxcare.com/debian/ --- all the info you
need is there. Sign up on the kcd-debian-devel list (it is extremely
low traffic).

Don't be intimidated by the length of the thread authorship FAQ.
Zack Browne (the editor) says:

*) I always edit submissions before putting them up, so you don't have to
worry about doing a bad job initially. I'll make sure whatever you give me
looks good, and then send you feedback about what I changed. Eventually,
as you get the hang of writing summaries, feedback will slow down and
stop. But you definitely don't have to worry about being embarrassed by
something you've submitted.

*) it really does take only 1/2 hour to make a real contribution. The
threaded nature of mailing lists makes it very easy to identify and
summarize a discussion, without having a lot of people stepping on each
other's toes, which might be a problem if we were all working on a single
unified document. Cousins are ideal for a distributed development model,
the only question is who's willing to donate cycles on their neural
wetware CPU ;-)

And he's right about the 1/2 hour ... many of the threads are very short
(less than 10 messages).

Cheers,
-Steve
