True, but compared to Helix Gnome, Debian Gnome usually falls short. I've
seen bugs reported and fixed the same day with Helix. I recently switched
back to Debian Gnome for testing and building some Gnome software on a
clean system (which was a PITA still, but only a minor one..)

I can say that bugs fixed months ago in Helix are still there in Debian.
Some of them are almost trivial problems fixed in minor upstream releases.
I would REALLY like to see more cooperation with Helix and Debian.. In
fact, I'd like Helix to be IN Debian...

Helix Gnome packages are more bleeding edge in theory, but in practice
they are a thousand times more usable in terms of reliability, stability,
function, and integration. By comparison, Debian's Gnome packages just
plain SUCK.
