ia64 port

SourceForge now has 3 ia64 boxes, and they are letting people submit
proposals to get access to them to port stuff. 

I suggest we submit a proposal to port Debian base. ;-) What do people think?

We'd probably have to work out something special with SourceForge so we
could get root access on one of the boxes, then work in a chroot. Seems
doable though.

There is a agreement people must sign to access the boxes. It is
