That's an important point, and I'm glad you realize it. However, the way you
respond indicates (or at least seems to) that you still think that Debian is
all about FTP, and that we should release whenever FTP is ready. I think this
is no longer the case. IMHO, we should release whenever _CD images_ are ready. 
M$ for example also doesn't release anything until every single sales point
has a complete stock of items to sell. Maybe there's something to learn from
that.

And also note that by `once [a CD image] is approved as "official"' I meant
`once we get a message from you saying that we will be releasing with CD
images that have the contents of those of the latest test cycle'. You might
regard this as an "internal release" as opposed to an "external release".

(Hmm.. you might also be thinking that we need a stable->potato symlink to
generate CD images, however (AFAIK) this is not the case.)
