Things are suddenly working! ;)
I did another fresh install of frozen and now it works.
I absolutely don't have a clue why, though.
I already did a fresh install earlier on to make sure it isn't a problem
with something that got messed up in my rather old potato system.
The only reason (and difference) I did a second fresh install was that at
first I didn't configure the network stuff...

My older potato system still doesn't recognize CTRL+SHIFT+1 but I can
live with the prospect that when 2.2 is released and I do a new install
it will.
Oh well... ;))
