Re: Report on Installing Debian from 'current' disks

(Please post followups to debian-boot@lists.debian.org)

> i was about to install the base system, and it dared to give me a choice to install from network. ok, the idea was good.. BUT, it didn't know that i didn't have the network drivers! (as they don't come with the kernel, Doh!)

already fixed.

not quite sure what you mean by this. if you don't install anything, what is
there to deinstall?

> then again, thing we need is a package to depend in the system critical functions, such as init, dpkg and such... (now that i cleaned the system i need a function to make the system depend on the basic functions for booting...

this is also already fixed. i'm guessing you choose the "simple" task
selection system...

related to above, already fixed.

> dpkg should depend on tar!

related to above, already fixed.

> console-tools should depend on packages that provide sed, sort, tr, cat and fmt (textutils and sed are some packages that provide those) also i noticed that it depends on find.. but not there

related to above, already fixed.

related to above, already fixed.

related to above, already fixed.

not related to boot-floppies per se. not sure about this.

please try boot-floppies versions >= 2.2.7 which should have these problems
solve. we are having pcmcia problems with 2.2.7 which we hope to fix in 2.2.8.
