It may be dangerous to release a package like debwrap, since it may let
some maintainers believe, they could just recomend use of debwrap instead
of fixing bugs in installation scripts. Dumb questions are bugs too.

You could still compile your distribution from the scratch and use
thousands of hacks to maintain it! Don't forget, at a certain point all
hacks has to be organized in order to become usefull application or
whatever.
