Personally, I don't think we should prevent Debian/BSD. I wonder about
the conflicts between Debian policy and BSD "standards", but that's for
someone else to worry about.
However, I think that if we have a Debian/BSD we should also have a
Debian/GPL [which would consist solely of software with licenses which
can be compiled into a GPLed program -- note that some of the software
distributed by FSF doesn't fall into this category]. The purpose would
be different, but ultimately both BSD and GPL are about giving developers
a reliably licensed software base.
Further aside: BSD has had the ability to run Linux software for quite
a while, so recompiling for a BSD kernel isn't about giving BSD people
access to debian software.
