We No, we're talking about both. If you greatly disturb existing practices, you have to at least *consider* the affect you will have on the installed base. Note that if the package is an *optional* utility, that's no longer at issue. Only when people talk about changing the default *without any experience with what affect that change will have* do other people get worried. If you're really serious about this, stop talking about changing the defaults--that action is totally premature. Get your stuff in as an optional package, get people to install it, and come back in a year to tell us "now that the package has been available, and many people have used it, and we've worked out the unforseen bugs, let's talk about changing the default."
