file '.fvwm2rc' not found

Hello,

I use the current potato packages. In the upgrade process from
slink I switched to fvwm:

~> dpkg --status fvwm
Package: fvwm
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: x11
Installed-Size: 1719
Maintainer: Julian Gilbey <jdg@debian.org>
Version: 2.2.2-2
Replaces: fvwm2 (<< 2.2)
Depends: libc6, libncurses4, libreadlineg2 (>= 2.1-12), libstdc++2.9, xlib6g (>= 3.3.2.3a-2), xpm4g (>= 3.4j-0)
Recommends: fvwm-common
Suggests: m4, cpp, menu (>= 1.5), fvwmconf (>= 0.19-4), rplay
Conflicts: fvwm2 (<< 2.2), fvwm-beta

Now I found in my ~/.xsession-errors file the following lines:

[FVWM][Read]: <<ERROR>> file '.fvwm2rc' not found in $HOME or /etc/X11/fvwm
[FVWM][Read]: trying to read system rc file
FvwmCommandS: dead pipe

I wonder why a missing ~/.fvwm2rc results in an error. According
to the README.Debian which states

   FVWM will only read one configuration file, either a user's ~/.fvwm2rc
   or the system's fvwm2rc.

This should be a normal case and not be logged in ~/.xsession-errors.
Furthermore there is a "dead pipe" for wich I havn't any explanation.

I wonder if there is something wrong witth the package or did I do
something wrong in my installation.

Kind regards

        Andreas.
