The important thing is to get the BTS to actually provide timely
operation. I submitted a quiet report (#40081) yesterday and tried to
query it by email (via request@bugs.debian.org), and the BTS itself
couldn't send me the report until the HTML page was generated.
(This is at least 40% a debbugs issue; I don't mind adding support for
checking the bugs page - perhaps by spawning a web browser - but I
suspect none of those duplicate bug reports could have been prevented
in the absence of timely BTS updates.)
Accordingly, I suggest filing a separate report against debbugs
addressing the timeliness concerns.
