Bug#38908: Apparently random system freeze

Not terribly likely. The freezes appear to be completely unrelated to the
state of either network interface (eth0/ppp0) or the presence or absence of
other machines on the local network. (It's just as likely whether WinBox is
on or off and whether is has been on at any point.)

I've already checked /var/log/syslog and determined that there's not a
consistent last message before failure. I'll do a grep for references to
eth0, though. (Last message before failure seems easy enough to identify,
since the hardware clock also gets thrown off as a result of the freeze.
Just spot the irregularity in the sequence of timestamps...)
