I just discovered what else it did: it quietly forgot about all of the
nice customisations such as the Icon style commands etc. in the rest
of system.fvwm2rc.  In version 2.2-6, you will be able to add the
following to the new default-style.hook file to achieve the same,
non-destructively:

Style "default-style" NoButton 4, NoButton 6

Easy, eh?
