Geographic location in /etc

Hi!

What about adding following feature to debian:

There are many programs which usually use the geographic location of the
computer (like wmglobe, wmMoonClock, xearth). These could benefit from
shared file which contains this information, something like /etc/location.
Unless the user can provide more precise content of this file, it can be 
easily created automatically from selected zone file, as
/usr/share/zoneinfo/zone.tab contains geographic location for zones.
