The slink version of dpkg _does_ include a manpage for dpgk-divert:

|        manpage.  Please do not report this as a bug, because this

|        the source code and writing good manpages please  write  a

I'll save comments regarding screw ups with dpkg-divert because of its


PS: dpkg-divert _is_ good, you just have to play with it before actually
    using it for anything useful.
