Ugh... where people will look *after* their system is all screwed up.

This is silly... we are providing seriously broken software, and no
one amongst the 400+ developers has done anything?

What can *I* do to fix this?  Someone seems to say that commenting out
setlocale might do the trick.  Is this true?  Anything else to look
for?  I'm not the best person for this, or maybe even a very good
person, but someone has got to do something.

How can I got to the linuxworldexpo and talk about how cool Debian is
when I know that it is broken in a serious way and that no one has
moved to fix it?
