I did that, of course (Electric Fence being the first tool I turn to, when I suspect bugs related to the use of malloc), but that didn't help much. I know where it crashes, but I don't understand why, and reading the source code and experimenting with it isn't illuminating. (I should have said so in my previous report, sorry.)
