Intent to package cjk-latex, chdrv and chdrvfont
Hello,
Here is my "after-the-fact" intent to package cjk-latex, chdrv and
chdrvfont. It is partly an effort to port the Chinese Linux Extension
(for Red Hat 5.2, http://cle.linux.org.tw/) to Debian.
Well, the Debian-Zh (?) Chinese project is growing very slowly, but hey,
maybe more people will help out soon. (Hint, hint. :-)
Package: cjk-latex
Priority: optional
Section: tex
Installed-Size: 679
Maintainer: Anthony Fok <foka@debian.org>
Version: 4.1.3-0
Depends: libc6, tetex-base (>= 0.9.981030-1), tetex-bin (>= 0.9.981031-2)
Recommends: freetype-tools (>= 1.2-1)
Description: A LaTeX2e macro package for CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean)
CJK is a macro package for LaTeX2e to enable typesetting Chinese,
Japanese, and Korean. It supports (even simultaneously) various CJK
encodings, e.g. Big5, GB, JIS, KS, CNS.
.
Note: This Debian package is at a very preliminary stage. The
necessary font files are not packaged yet, and you may need to
spend quite a bit of time tweaking teTeX's configuation files
to get cjk-latex working. Only for alpha testers and those in
urgent need of cjk-latex. :-)

Package: chdrvfont
Priority: optional
Section: utils
Installed-Size: 404
Maintainer: Anthony Fok <foka@debian.org>
Version: 1.0-1
Suggests: chdrv
Description: Kuo Chiao 16x16 font for CHDRV Chinese console terminal
This package contains the Kuo Chiao 16x16 Chinese bitmap font and the
corresponding 8x16 ASCII font files (kcchin16.f00 and kctext16.f00)
for the CHDRV Chinese console terminal for Linux.
.
These fonts were part of the Kuo Chiao Chinese System generiously
donated to the Taiwan Academic Network (TANet). To the best of my
knowledge, these fonts have since been widely distributed all over the
world and are now in the public domain.
