Unfortunately, some things posted by the person who happens to be the leader
tend to reflect on the project, posted from the leader account or not.  It
is wise not to speak for the project unless you know you have the support of
the project, and to that extent at least Mitch is right about things said in
public reflecting on the project.

Either way, I do take that sort of thing into consideration when writing
comments places such as Slashdot.
