Fine.

Mutt generates an 'error' when there is no spool file. My assertion
has been that this is the incorrect behavior. It is not an 'error' to
have no mail.

The only reason I brought this up is that this is one of those places
we can smooth over the wrinkles in OpenSource programs and make them
present a consistent interface. This particular one may not seem
significant, but consider the use that receives an 'error' the first
time he runs the MUA. He might think that this 'error' means that his
mail configuration is broken, that any mail the system attempts to
deliver will be lost. Thus, the 'error' message that mutt generates
is deceptive.
