Yes, you're right about this (I believe).

Erm, slink is no longer unstable -- potato is. You don't _really_
want us to announce "Debian 2.1 (aka slink) has now been released",
only to find a slew of bug reports complaining that Netscape has
stopped working? Please don't criticise the alpha/beta testers for
being alpha/beta testers!!
