I thought that Ian had said that no one was supposed to parse the dpkg
files directly, yet dpkg-awk does, and now other packages
(specifically netscape-base-4) are starting to depend on it.  If this
is OK, then I'll shut up, but if not, I think we're be better off to
keep this from becoming common.
