How difficult would it be to maintain a complete list in a standard format
on www.debian.org which installations can download and peruse? This way
no hard-coding of mirrors is needed.
Also, a short piece of code to "detect" the most appropriate site to use
shouldn't be too hard. First match based on country, then do a few
pings. Shouldn't take more than about 5 seconds to determine a closeish
site.
