I thing the bug should go to the X packages for this (gratuitous, IMHO) change.
Currently, there is not a simple and elegant way to tell dpkg or dselect
that package "bar" is the new name for the old package "foo".
Every package renaming creates more problems than it solves.
Therefore, renaming packages should be discouraged for now.
