so, the source dependencies discussion is getting old.
what about implementing it with a master file, that hase the "Source-Depend:"
line for every package in it ? that way you can test it, make it suit your
needs.

when the whole system works and is getting stable, the information can be
moved into each packages debian/contrl and .dsc file, and the build process
will get the information from that source.

but till then a singe file will allow you createing everything necessary and
change the design several times without relying on other maintainers.
