That's also a pretty radical step removing contrib completely.
My take on things is that there isn't a problem, and we can safely
release the packages. Obviously, you disagree with my interpretation
on this.
That's why we should have a vote on it.
Maybe it's too close to the release date to organize a vote. I don't
know what we should do in that case.
I haven't read everything on this topic, so I might have missed
something (ie. an author voicing displeasure or threatening legal
action).
