I dunno. I only know the one Miguel. Maybe they wanted to hire him but he
declined? I don't know.

Red Hat employees do a lot of the work, yes, and many developers run Red
Hat. However, Debian is normally in the minority anyway, and users of
Debian are not usually as concerned about ease-of-use. I think if Debian
wanted to be involved in a big way they could be. Gnome is supposed to be
portable to all Unix, not just other Linux dists, after all.

FWIW I run Debian (except at work) though I am a fairly lame Gnome
developer.  Jim Pick has also checked the Debian packaging stuff into CVS
but it's not maintained really, while the Red Hat spec files are usually
up to date.  A volunteer to work on this would be welcome.
