I am sure I will regret joining this pointless argument, but....

One thing about RMS is his consistency. There have only been minor changes
to the license over the years. Idealogically he has not budged an inch.

While it is true that the GPL does have a few grey areas (they should be cleaned
up with the next release of the license), it is quite clear in this instance.
RMS has stated numerous times that KDE is in violation, BUT it is up to the authors
as the copyright owners to sue. They have stated that they have no intention
of suing. Does that make things right? No.
Does that make the GPL wrong? No.
Should Debian make an exception for KDE? No.
Is the GPL the right license for KDE? Probably not. Maybe the authors of KDE should
   ask themselves this question.

Can we get back to working on Debian? There sure is a lot of energy being wasted
on this.
