Yes. In fact, if somebody knows how to repack a .deb, that would be
sufficient. The programs are compiled right, they just need to have
"libc6" to be removed from the dependency line.

Apparently, it's a new bug introduced with the latest version. It should
be possible to do a diff and find the problem. The bug hasn't been
forwarded upstream, though.
The only packages I know of affected by this are the netscape installer
(which no longer does a strip) and emacs20.

It's fixed, but not uploaded because it can't be stripped.

Yes, but I checked and this bug number wasn't mentioned in the changelog.
