At long last, the release of xfree86 that closes all outstanding bugs of severity important or greater has been released. I expect to have to do one more release to get some documentation in place. Also, it's now or never with regards to the xdm-start-server flag in /etc/X11/config. It's been disabled for the last several releases because it has a nasty habit of clobbering folks' customized /etc/X11/xdm/Xserver files, and no one has really complained of its absence. In the meantime I've added helpful comments to the file itself so that people may hack it up by hand. -- G.
