Well, without the patches, at least on my system, scsidev just
segfaults when run. It's *completely* useless. It has obvious buffer
overrun problems, so it can't really be doing the "right thing" on any
system. I'm not sure I completely fixed the problem, but I'm pretty
certain I didn't make it worse.
