If this is the case, there should be no changes to the kernel packages
till after the libc6 issues are sorted out. If both have to be changed
simultaneously, that sounds like a show stopper right there (as it
sounds like a deliberate attempt to make the resulting system more
fragile).

Which, I think, leads back to the original reason for debian's choice
here: clean interfaces between stuff coming from independent source
trees is a good thing.
