But is this version of pgp available for linux?  As a Debian package?

If not, why do we care?  If so:

  Does it advertise the existence of this key? 

  (a) Only way to turn it off is to replace the configuration.
  (b) pgp already has lots of options,
  (c) different contexts require different mechanisms.
