Re: RFC: libc5 uploads for bo

humpf!  when i do:

  $ dpkg --compare-versions 2.5-1-2.5-2 lt 2.5-2; echo $?

i get:

  1

so it seems that the proposed bo-unstable version number isn't lower
than the corresponding hamm version number?! :-(

i prefer the following proposition instead:

>>>>> "fabrizio" == Fabrizio Polacco <fpolacco@icenet.fi> writes:

    fabrizio>                   bo-unstable       unstable
    fabrizio> last bo package    1.2-4              ---
    fabrizio> old package        1.2-4bo5         1.2-5
    fabrizio> new package        1.2-4bo6         1.2-6
    fabrizio> newer package      1.2-4bo7         1.2-7
    fabrizio> non-maintainer     1.2-4bo7.1       1.2-7.1

 (note: i preferred to write 1.2-4bo5 instead of fabricio's 1.2-4.bo5)

and i would add that when debianizing a new upstream release of the
package, one can put

                       bo-unstable       unstable
     new package        1.3-0bo1         1.3-1
     newer package      1.3-0bo2         1.3-2
     non-maintainer     1.3-0bo2.1       1.3-2.1

as i'll probably do myself with the gnuplot package for bo-unstable,
since gnuplot hamm version is already out as `m.n-1'. is it okay to
do it in this `m.n-0bo1' way?

cheers
