Thanks. I've already looked here but all I found was a couple
of links to pretty unsubstantial pages, and to kaffe and guavac
themselves. Kore wasn't even mentioned. So, unless I've missed
something important on that site, JOLT looks like a good idea
that has not been followed through.

Yes, I was disappointed about that. I don't want to write software
that ends up in contrib because it depends on non-free components.
Therefore I will have to steer clear of biss-awt unless they do something
about their license.
