I upgraded my pppd yesterday. After manually fixing everything, I got it to work. I just noticed, however, that with the new version I can only connect to my ISP at 9600 baud. I tried changing /etc/ppp/peers/provider (I think that is the file -- I can't check because I already downgraded) to specify 115200 baud. I also ran (as always)
        /bin/setserial /dev/modem spd_vhi
but that did nothing. My modem init script was unchanged from before, where I regularly connected at 33600. I downgraded to ppp 2.2.0f-23 (which is what I had on my Debian 1.3.1 CD) moved my chatscript to /etc/ppp.chatscript and found that I could now connect at 33600 again to my ISP. I believe that being unable to connect about 9600 baud is pretty serious. Has anyone else seen this? Should I submit a bug report?
