protecting files during upgrade
It would be nice to have a feature to allow files changed by you to
be protected during upgrades. It is not uncommon to modify files on the
system (including editing shell scripts and changing file permissions) only to
lose the changes during an upgrade.
One possible solution would be to have a way to register a file
as a confile. This way you would be asked during an upgrade whether
you would like the file replaced.
