Well, that's my fault. When I was preparing the non-maintainer
release of xpm, I first thought about using a different directory for
X11 libs than for normal libs, but was told that shouldn't be necessary, 
so I guess those files should go under /usr/i486-linuxlibc1/lib
If nobody objects I will upload a new non-maintainer release tomorrow.
