dselect problems

Hi, All

i have hamm installed on standard P133 PC. Two 
days ago i've switched access method from
ftp to mounted disk. Yesterday i've tried
to switch back to ftp access. Well, each time
dselect trying to login into ftp.us.debian.org, 
i'm getting 2meg core file in /var/lib/dpkg
and error message " error in dselect script,
core file in /var/lib/..., return code 1".

i have dpkg and dpkg-ftp 1.4.09 installed
