Re: dpkg question: preinst run before Depends:?
This sounds a bit like the install-info problem. There is a Right Way (TM)
but doing that now would possibly break a lot of systems.
How about keeping with
d) include the (very small) modules from dpkg-perl in the preinst
scripts
and return to the matter later when the Right Way can be implemented
or there comes a version of Debian which will break older systems
anyway.
