Egcs packaged, available in /debian/home/galenh
I've made a preliminary debian package of the first egcs snapshot, and
uploaded it to my home directory on novare. It still has a few
problems, but it seems to work, more or less. Everything is there
except the upstream source; you'll have to fetch that yourself from
ftp://ftp.cygnus.com/pub/egcs/snapshots/. (Sorry, but I don't feel like
moving 8 more megs right now.) I used the source in pristine form, so
just rename and build.
The most serious problem I noted immediately is that the eg77 frontend
just dosen't work. It's a frontend to the frontend (gcc), and expects
the gcc binary to be egcc, rather than FSF gcc. If you want to play
with the fortran compiler, just use egcc with the appropriate options.
Once the Egcs people have made an official (non-snapshot) release, I'll
move it into experimental. Good luck, folks--I'm going to get some
