Subject: general: DNS zone for debian.org uses CNAMES for MX records
X-Mailer: bug 2.95
Date: Thu, 10 Jul 1997 19:33:34 +1000
My named keeps complaining about debian.org MX records pointing to CNAMEs:
Jul 10 19:27:55 goliath.apana.org.au named: "bugs.debian.org IN MX" points to a CNAME (net-1.adj.com)
Jul 10 19:27:55 goliath.apana.org.au named: "debian.org IN MX" points to a CNAME (net-1.adj.com)
The RFC doesn't recommend this, which is why named complains. MX records
should only point to sites with A records.
