Yes, you missed something. I'll say it again:
I HAVE TRIED QUITE HARD TO MAKE SVGLIB BUILD FOR LICB6 MYSELF.
(I even succeded, but I now only get segfaults when I run programmes
linked with it).
I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE IT IF ANYONE ON THIS LIST WOULD COME FORWARD
WITH MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SVGALIB, AND MORE TIME THAN I, TO SOLVE
THIS PROBLEM. I've sent one email to the upstream author, and he
seemed quite nice, but due to time constraints I am unable to
spend more time on it (yes, I do feel guilty now).

[here, Shaya removed what I consider to be the most importent part of
the message I sent in the first plase: Please, people. Does anyone
use/know svgalib? If really nobody cares, then, yes, I think we should
abandon svgalib. But until then, please, come forward!]

Let's give the svgalib hackers a few more weeks, and if they don't come
forward, we'll abandon svgalib. Would be perfect with me, but I'm sure
many people are going to send me hate-mail now.
Thanks,
